Naming convention of data files
SUA product Swarm Polar Electrojet (PEJ) data and metadata files are in ASCII and XML format. The data file naming convention “SW_OPER_PNMXTMSSWE_YYYY-MM-DD” can be described as follows:
- SW: Swarm;
- OPER: operational;
- PNM: product name (e.g. PEJ);
- X: Swarm satellite name (A, B, or C);
- TMS: time series;
- SWE: Space Weather;
- YYYY: year (e.g. 2017);
- MM: month (e.g. 02);
- DD: day (e.g. 25).
Content of the Swarm PEJ data file
The SUA Swarm PEJ data file consist of 8 variables (from column 1 to column 8):
| Column 1. | mjd2000: Modified Julian Day (starting at midnight of 01/01/2000); |
| Column 2. | date: YYYY-MM-DDhh:mm:ss (hh:mm:ss" represents hour, minute, and seconds); |
| Column 3. | orb num: Swarm Orbit Counter (AUXxORBCNT, where x = A, B, or C for Swarm A, Swarm B, or Swarm C, respectively) |
| Column 4. | lat: geocentric latitude in degrees; |
| Column 5. | mlt: Magnetic Local Time in decimal hours; |
| Column 6. | lat_cor: corrected latitude in degrees; |
| Column 7. | max_lat: maximum latitude in degrees; |
| Column 8. | color code: g (green), y (yellow), and r (red) string values. |
